Network & Relationship Building
The Collective provides members with opportunities for informal professional development through moderated conversations with leaders in the field about the real life experiences and complexities of being a nonprofit leader of color. The options include but are not limited to: networking via social events and a private social media group; unfacilitated peer mentoring; and facilitated peer-to-peer time with solution mapping, affinity groups and resource sharing through “Give+Ask activities,” an opportunity for members to offer up their gifts and talents as well make an ask of their peers to meet a need.
In addition, the Collective has been working to connect members with BIPOC Recruiters in the field to build mutually beneficial relationships for future opportunities and help demystify the recruiter process in a low-risk situation. To do this, the Collective started with webinars on the recruiting process and standing out with search committees. Now, we are pairing members with recruiters for 1:1 meetings. If your recruiting firm is interested in working with us, please get in touch.
